Too many spams.
Kai-Fu Lee, “The Single Largest Talent Magnet In China”: I am not sure about that statement, but I believe what is said below is true:
Lee acknowledged that China lacks the openness and idea-sharing that is common among entrepreneurs in places like Silicon Valley, and he said he aims to change that.
“Talent is plentiful, you just have to have the trust,” he said. “People keep things to themselves.”This guardedness has kept angel investing, which often involves a leap of faith, from flourishing, he said.
“Early-stage is a huge challenge in China,” he said.
(Lack of) Openness and sharing is still a major problem in all areas. Recently I tried to find introductory information of geology in Yunnan province and could hardly find any in Chinese web sites! Same experience on the subject of hepatitis-B which is so prevalent in the country. The other example: the Open Source movement in the software industry has few Chinese participants.
"Keeping things to themselves" is a cultural phenomenon, or weakness I would say. Sad to say, I have been doing just that on many occasions.
